We visit the oldest and the most interesting parts of Tirana from Skanderbeg Square to the Polytechnic University, Starting with the mosaic of the National Museum on Skanderbeg Square, Et'hem Bey Mosque towards the elegant government buildings at the end of the square housing various ministries (built in the 1930s during the rule of King Zog), Fine Arts Gallery, Hotel Dajti, and Rinia Park. Walk across the next wide streets (Bulevardi Zhan D'Ark; Bulevardi Bajram Curri) and we across Lana River's bridge, (Photo stops) and we arrive at the 'Pyramid'. Next is the Prime Minister's Building (the ex-Communist Party headquarters), and in front of it is the Parliamentary Offices. Beyond Rruga Ismail Qemali is the Hotel Rogner Europapark, and a little further the Palace of Congresses which was built for Party congresses during the communist regime in Albania (nowadays the Palace hosts concerts, festivals, and fairs). In front of it is the Presidential Building. This building was the Soviet embassy until 1961. At the end of the main boulevard is "Mother Teresa" Square, named to honour the most famous Albanian nun of the 20th century.
