This lovely half day walk starts with a gentle climb out of the valley Río de Las Vueltas where El Chaltén is located, the first two kilometers are on the way up all the time and the last two will be also gain altitude but a bit more gently.
The path winds its way up the valley side, affording a lovely view of this glacially formed valley. You will also trek through part of the Patagonian forest – of lenga and ñire trees; you may also even spot a Magellanic woodpecker.
At Laguna Capri you will be able to enjoy the fantastic views of the lake and the Fitz Roy massif in the distance. You will be able to sit on one of the beaches for a while and just enjoy your surroundings. You follow the same trail back to El Chaltén, ready for a well deserved beer or hot chocolate!
