What To Expect

The Living Maya Experience offers visitors hugely enjoyable, learning visits to two English-speaking Mayan homes in Big Falls village. The Chicas make hammocks, palm fans, textiles and other crafts. The Cals present a traditional Mayan home, furnished with all natural materials; from balsa wood benches to beds of tree bark. Food is cooked and stored in the traditional way.

Not wheelchair accessible. At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time. Refunds will not be issued if tour/activity is missed due to late or non-arrival of cruise ship. A minimum of 2 people per booking is required. Most travelers can participate. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
