Diving at Southwater Marine Reserve

Your days starts at Captain Jak’s dock, where you’ll meet your captain and dive master while being fitted for gear. Once everyone is outfitted properly by our trained staff and approved by our dive master, the boat will depart at 7:00 AM for a three-tank drive (8:00 AM for a two-tank dive). Southwater Marine Reserve is about 75 minutes by boat. Southwater Marine Reserve is a favorite location for our dive masters. It gives use the opportunity for both dives to be double reef wall dives. Your first dive will be a 70-foot dive. Here you can expect to see turtles, eagle rays, and eels. The second dive will be an inner reef wall dive with deeps of 60-feet. After we make our way to Southwater Caye, we’ll enjoy a picnic-style lunch. If you have selected the three-tank dive trip, this third dive will consist of the shallowest dive of the trip at a depth of 50-feet. This dive is in the same area as the second dive. After all dives are completed, we make the 60 to 75 minute boat ride back home.
