As a Canadian Signature Experience, Norquay's Via Ferrata is a must-do activity when visiting Banff National Park. Our highly qualified ACMG-certified guides will lead you up the cliffs of Mt Norquay that hang above the Bow Valley, overlooking the town of Banff.
Steel handholds, ladders, and footsteps as well as a steel safety cable are secured to the rock wall providing assistance and safety. Climbers are safely secured to the safety cable while climbing.
The Explorer Route is a 2.5-hour introduction to Via Ferrata and a great way to test out this adrenaline-packed alpine activity. Climb pitches, and cross the course’s picturesque suspension bridge.
Although no prior climbing experience is necessary, guests should be fit enough to climb a ladder.
Not wheelchair accessible. Near public transportation. No heart problems or other serious medical conditions. Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level. PARTICIPANTS MUST CHECK IN 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO DEPARTURE TIME. A liability Waiver must be signed by all via ferrata participants. Minimum 12 years of age and minimum 40 kg (88 lbs). This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers.
