What To Expect

Chiloé's mythology is made up of stories rooted in its culture. Almost all the stories reflect the importance of the sea and the forests in the life of the Chilotes.
It arose, it is estimated, from the mixture of the religious manifestations of the indigenous peoples that inhabited this area, plus the legends and beliefs, especially Celtic, brought by the Spanish conquerors, who, in 1567, began the process of conquest in Chiloé . .
This merger began the process of formation of a particular mythology, which over time grew and prospered with its own lights, since it remained very isolated from other beliefs and myths that developed in other parts of Chile.
