Esquipulas Rainforest is a privately managed development that does not allow access to the general public without prior reservation.
All of our experienced tour guides are certified to professionally develop a great birding experience. Private tours allow us to dedicate the time and attention that each attendee deserves.
What to remember
Important info
Not wheelchair accessible. Stroller accessible. Service animals allowed. Not recommended for travelers with back problems. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. No heart problems or other serious medical conditions. Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level. A light cotton t-shirt, tanktop, leggings or shorts are ideal to wear during the walk, comfortable clothing is recommended (long-sleeved shirts and long pants are not necessary) Dress in muted colors (brown, green, etc.) Think blending in!. Closed-toe footwear (sneakers, hiking boots, Keens or Tevas) is required to participate in the tour (No beach sandals or flip flops allowed). Pack sunscreen, and bug repellent, (try to find an organic one). Please bring rain protective gear for your camera and optics, rain jacket, and umbrella (early May to late December). This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund. This is a private tour/activity. Only your group will participate. Confirmation will be received at time of booking
What's included
Bilingual tour guide (Certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board). Hotel pickup and drop-off from your selected accommodation (Manuel Antonio and Quepos hotels ONLY). Entry pass to Esquipulas Rainforest Reserve (use of its facilities, bird feeders, and trails). Breakfast - Enjoy a traditional Costa Rican breakfast (fresh tropical fruits, Gallo Pinto (mixed rice and beans), eggs, toast, organic coffee and juice). ATX-BTX Swarovski spotting scopes, take home excellent HD-quality videos and photos captured by our guides.

TOUR WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION: We kindly ask you please INFORM US in advance where you would be driving from, to better coordinate the best meeting point according to the indications of your hotel. NOTE: OUR TOUR GUIDE MUST ACCOMPANY YOU IN YOUR VEHICLE.
If you arrive on your own or rented car from outside Quepos, we recommend meeting with us at "Delta La Managua" Gas Station, as appears on Google Maps.
If you are locally staying (Manuel Antonio or Quepos), we recommend to meet us at our "Manuel's Tours, Costa Rica" office located in Rancho Grande de Quepos, Frente Al Hotel Villa Romántica, Puntarenas Province, Quepos, 60601.
After meeting our team, you will drive or follow us to the Esquipulas Rainforest property, where free, secure parking is available for your vehicle. NOTE: OUR TOUR GUIDE MUST ACCOMPANY YOU IN YOUR VEHICLE.
