Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie are part of the former inner-German border, arriving in the eastern part of Berlin we reach Gendarmenmarkt and shortly afterwards the center of the eastern part of the city, Alexanderplatz with the Red City Hall, Neptune Fountain and the television tower. For a short time now, we have also been driving on Karl-Marx-Allee (Stalin-Allee) to the East-Side-Gallery and from there to the Ostbahnhof and back to the Neptune Fountain. Now it's getting really historic again, Unter den Linden is home to the cathedral, the Berlin City Palace, the State Opera and the Humboldt University.
