Guided Segway™ tour around Baldeney lake in Essen

Experience the Baldendey Lake in Essen from a different perspective and drive around it with the Segway™. Enjoy great views of the lake and discover historical places like the Carl Funke coal mine, the old railroad bridge, and the Scheppen house in a relaxed way. After an extensive briefing by an experienced trainer, leave the SeaSide-Beach area and ride on well-maintained paths - almost always directly on the lake - first in the direction of Heisingen. On the way, pass the Carl Funke colliery, which was closed in the 1970s. It is a reminder of a time when Lake Baldeney was not yet a recreational area, but coal was still mined on the shore. Another relic from that time is the old Kupferdreh railroad bridge, over which coal trains once rolled. Today, only pedestrians, cyclists, inline skaters, and Segway riders are allowed to cross the bridge.Roll along the lakeshore and come to Haus Scheppen, a former feudal farm and today a popular bikers' meeting place. Take a break to stretch your feet before continuing. Pass Villa Hügel and reach Essen-Werden, cross the Ruhr there and pass the regatta course. Then the beach club slowly comes into view again, where you can enjoy a cool drink and the warm sun after the tour. SEGWAY is a trademark of Segway Inc
