Marvel at the luxurious interior and sensational history that decorated the walls of this palace. Continuing to Rosenborg Castle, the smallest palace in the city. It has served as a summer residence and home to many kings. Heartbreak and warfare rest in the many rooms that make up the castle today. Stepping outside the surrounding palace grounds, The King’s Garden is a popular spot for locals to picnic and hang out in.Going from one palace to the next, we’ll sweep through the inner city, also known as Indre By. The old town of Copenhagen has been mostly destroyed by fires and war, but there are still many old buildings and streets to enjoy. On our walk of the old town, we’ll pass sights such as the Round Tower, topped with an observatory that is the oldest in Europe still functioning; Strøget, the main pedestrian shopping street of the city; and the University of Copenhagen, one of the oldest universities in Europe.
