With a local legend as your guide, you'll buckle up for a thrilling off-road ride, taking in ancient folklore, tourist-free treasures and some of the best-kept secrets on the island.Hop into the driver's seat of a 4x4 and head to the likes of Barronco de la Torre, the Salinas de Carmen Coast and Caleta de la Ballena. All three are unspoilt spots that not a lot of people know about, so you can expect so snap some of our best landscape photos here. You'll also make tracks to the peaceful little village of Pozo Negro, where a dry river canyon makes for some pretty exciting offroading.You'll whiz your way along the dusty trails here, before trundling over to Poblado de Atalayita. This archaeological site is one of the best places on the island where you can learn about the native Guanches people, AKA Mahos, who lived on the island before the Spanish arrived in the 15th century.

* 4x4s are for one or two people. The driver must be at least 19 years old with one year's driving experience, and the passenger must be at least seven years old. The maximum age for driving is 70 years
* If both guests are adults with driving licences (type B), it's possible to have two drivers on the vehicle contract
* Wear enclosed shoes or trainers when driving, no open sandals or flip-flops are allowed
* You'll be denied driving if you're found to be under the influence of drinking, before or during the tour
* Your guide will communicate with you during the tour, from his vehicle, via a radio-system to your vehicle
* Driving experience covers approximately 67km and includes petrol, civil liability insurance and car insurance
