After catching the train in San Sebastián, you will begin the path in the small town of Zarautz, where you will visit the Old Town, visit the market, and understand how Basque society has evolved over time, integrating wine and the Christian religion in its culture. Then, you will continue along the old "Camino del Norte" through the hills and by the ocean. It will be difficult, but we will pass a centuries-old hermitage with incredible views, admiring the vineyards and idyllic rural surroundings. As a reward for the effort, you will descend the mountain to visit a Gaintza Txakolindegi, a txakoli winery. There you will learn how they make Txakoli basque wine in a more responsible way with the environment and you will taste the wine. You will also eat anchovies and bonito del norte; and you will have a great time with the family that owns the winery. You can even buy some bottles for a cheaper price than in the supermarkets! Finally, you will end this experience by walking through the narrow streets of the medieval town of Getaria, where you will learn about the exploits and ways of life of its most illustrious inhabitants. Your guide will be happy to suggest places to eat or show you how to return to your hotel after this experience.
Visit Zarautz and Getaria villages. Walk part of the Way of Saint James by the ocean. Finish at a local family-run winery with an integrated viticulture production
