Wilderness survival summer and autumn tour

Head out of Rovaniemi, straight into the Taiga forest. Accompanied by your guide, you will explore the beauty of Lapland's forest. Learn more about the trees, plants, their properties, wildlife and survival skills such as how to make a fire.At the start, you will receive some safety instructions and what to look out for. Halfway during the tour you can enjoy some refreshments and a typical Finnish barbecue snack. Your guide will show you how to build a fire as natives do, using a flint&steel and natural elements. The tour operates all year round, so you can enjoy the beauty of each season. In the summertime, you can enjoy the Taiga forest at its most lively time of the year. The forest is filled with delicious fruits: blueberry, lingonberry, cranberry and many more. These are a tasty feast for all the arctic animals living in Lapland: bears, wolves, lynx, wolverines, moose, reindeer, and Arctic hare. At the beginning of autumn, the forests will show its beautiful "Ruska" colours of copper and gold. Autumn is also a great time to find and learn about the local shrubs and mushrooms that grow here.
