What To Expect

Huskies are one of the most loved animals of the north, and you will understand why when you meet the pack at Apukka. You can pet them, pose on photos with them and listen to stories about the lives of the huskies. They absolutely love pulling loads and running on the trail across the forests.

The highlight of the day is the 7–10 km long safari, where you get to be the musher yourself, in other words control the pack of huskies towing the sled.

Important info

Not wheelchair accessible. Infants must sit on laps. Not recommended for travelers with back problems. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. No heart problems or other serious medical conditions. Most travelers can participate. Children under 14 yrs sitting together with adult.. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 40 travelers. Confirmation will be received at time of booking

Please arrive on time to pick up meeting point. Bus will leave exactly on given time. If you miss the pick up time we will not refund the excursion.

The pick-up time from Rovaniemi city center (Korkalonkatu 36) is 50 minutes before safari starting time.
The pick-up time from Santa Claus Village bus stop by the main road is 30 minutes before safari starting time.
