The name Black Forest comes from the general dark color of the numerous pine trees that grow in this region. It is said that it is the Black Forest that inspired the Brother Grimm the Hansel & Gretel fairy tale. The Black Forest gateau and the cuckoo clocks originate from this region. Here, you will follow the scenic route and stop in a small quaint village that borders one of the most beautiful lakes of the area.
