The town of Obernai is pinned to the popular Alsace wine route in eastern France. This half-day excursion includes a tasting session of some of the region’s most popular wines, plus a tour of this rural town. You’ll drive into Obernai along the wine route through a patchwork landscape of vineyards, crop fields and tucked-away farms. On arrival in the town, your guide will take you on a tour of the centre. The action revolves around the main square, where regular food and gift markets set up in front of jewellery shops, sweet-smelling French bakeries and gourmet restaurants. You might also tick off a pretty well that was built in the Renaissance period, along with the town’s belfry and the double turrets of the St Pierre and Paul Church. After your tour, you’ll drive to the Robert Blanck Tasting Cellar. Here, you’ll be introduced to the region’s wines, then get to taste four different local tipples before making the return journey back to the ship.
Your tour will depart from your cruise ship.
