The Château de Flaugergues was one of Montpellier's first "Folies", leisure residences of 18th century Languedocian aristocracy. Acquired and transformed by Etienne de Flaugergues in 1696, the castle still remains a family home for The Colbert family, descendants of Etienne de Flaugergues and Jean-Baptiste Colbert (minister of Louis XVI) still live in the château as their principal residence. They happily host the tours, and other cultural events like movie screenings under the stars!
