Come along on this 9-mile walk through the Elan Vally and discover one of Wales's best-kept secrets. Perfect for nature and photography lovers, you'll be able to discover the amazing feats of engineering of the dams, reservoirs and viaducts, as well as the stunning nature of the Valley. You'll start your adventure by making your way to the huge dam wall of Caban-Coch. Climb up a zig-zag path to get a close-up view of this massive dam that resembles a natural waterfall! Continue walking along the southern shore until you reach the Garreg Ddu Dam. Your tour guide will then lead you along a quieter track along the eastern shore of the Garreg Ddu reservoir which is flanked by the impressive rocky crags of Mynydd Dolfolau - perfect for some dramatic photo shots! Enjoy the fresh air walking through the pinewoods to reach the unusual Pen y Garreg with its distinctive central tower. A short stretch on the road takes you to the Penbont House tearooms where there will be a stop for tea and cake. After refuelling, you'll make your way to the Glannau plantation, following an adventurous route traversing a mossy ravine and a conifer woodland, until you make your way back.
