What To Expect

This tour allows you to see the dark side of Edinburgh, off the beaten track, and with good reason! You'll be witnessing some dark and gruesome torture equpment from Nuremberg and Bamberg Castles in Germany, dating back to the late 1500s and the early 1600s.These torture tools may not be the scariest thing you'll see on this tour. Your guide will lead you around what is said to be the most haunted and paranormally active site in Scotland, telling you about the history of the vaults, what they were used for and what lay within. They will also tell you of the paranormal and haunted tales of the vaults' darker past. Prepare to witness the mysterious Stone Circle in the underbelly of the city. This tour is definitely not one for the faint of heart.

Please wear comfortable walking shoes
Please note that this tour is unfortunately not suitable for those with walking limitations, as due to the historic nature of the site there are no lifts or ramps available at our location and guests must enter the vaults by climbing a 2-foot tall step followed by a winding staircase
Tours will be limited to 16 people to allow for social distancing. Starting from 1st May 2022, the limited will be 36 people
Consuming alcohol or drugs during the tour is strictly forbidden
Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be turned away
