Taste of Lefkada

This full day tour shines the spotlight on Lefkada's mountain villages and tastes of the island. You'll visit the Monastery of Faneromeni and the villages of Agios Nikitas, Karya and Vafkeri between tasting local specialities.You'll begin your exploration at the Monastery of Faneromeni, which lies above the capital within a shady pine forest. After browsing the museum and the grounds, you'll trundle along country roads to the fishing village of Agios Nikitas on the west coast. Take advantage of some free time to either browse the cobbled streets or soak up the sun on the beach.Next will be Karya in the green heart of the island. It's known for traditional embroidery, which you'll be able to see and buy before a coffee or ice cream in the main square. And last but not least, you'll reach Vafkeri where a whole host of delights will be on offer – see ‘riganada' being prepared, try the almond and rosewater drink ‘soumada', and taste treats like ‘pasteli' and ‘mandolato'. On the way back you'll stop off for a photo at Nidri.
