Diros Caves and Mani Peninsula Tour

Once one of the most remote parts of Greece, the Mani Peninsula retains its characteristic villages, rugged coastline and far-out coves. You'll explore a small section on this full day tour, which includes a step down into Diros Caves, often regarded one of the most beautiful lake caves in the world.After leaving Kalamata, you'll set off into the Mani Peninsula towards the Diros Caves. But first, you'll swing by the village of Agios Nikolaos to experience a typical fishing village where time has stood still. Then it's onwards to the caves, which you'll enter via a stairway.You'll eventually reach the underground lake where boats will be waiting to take you on a voyage past centuries-old stalactites and stalagmites, and through lit caverns and tunnels. Once you've explored it all, you'll travel to Areopoli, a historic town of towers and churches – and whose name means ‘city of Ares', the Greek god of war.
