There are some quirky places to visit besides Lake Atitlan, Antigua, and the volcanos, like the Caves of Actun Kan. The caves are sacred spots for the Mayans as they used to believe that were the entrance to the infraworld where some of their gods lived. The ceremonies that take place nowadays are to pray for their ancestors, ask for advice or a favor.
Despite touring inside of the cave, you will learn about the local flora and fauna, and the Mayans. The tour of the caves takes 3 to 4 hours depending on the group´s pace. It is a unique activity to do while you are visiting Peten. Come with us and have a breathtaking adventure!
