Every season of the year brings with itself a different spectacle for the senses at the Plitvice Lakes.
The Plitvice Lakes are famous for their 16 cascading lakes that form a gorgeous ring of water. The stunning scenery in the park has been created by a flow of water over limestone. Over time it created travertine barriers that resulted in waterfalls, lakes, and caves. The area has been designated a national park in 1949 and in 1979 UNESCO entitled it a World Heritage Site. Enjoy the wonders of nature, an astonishing view, clean air, nature’s sounds and the sheer joy of just being somewhere so vast and diverse. Standing here, you can really say you have become one with nature. Plitvice National Park can rightfully be called the most magnificent place in all of Europe.
