Ston, a medieval town with
centuries of history, is situated on
the Peljesac peninsula. It is famous
for its walls (5,5 km long), the
second longest in the world. The
town is also known for its oldest
European saltern, which is still
active. Its true value lies in the
traditional way of salt production,
i.e. a natural way of getting salt that
has not changed since ancient
times.
