This walking tour is about the everyday life under Communism and after. It provides a clear picture about what everybody over 40 years lived through and how it affects current attitudes of locals.
We lived through Communist Hungary and therefore able to give you a very balanced and detailed explanation of Hungarian Communism and post Communism.
You will get our personal and realistic insight into what life in Hungary was like after the Second World War, during Communism and what has happened since.
It helps to understand the local way of living, you do not only see the city from a tourist’s viewpoint. The walk starts with a historical summary and then we tell you the undercover stories of an average Hungarian.
We also reveal interesting facts about traveling, housing, religious life, education, media, propaganda, sport, healthcare, religion, economy under Communism and compare it with post-Communism.
