The Dayak tribes of Central Kalimantan is settled along the Lamandau river, another river systems of Pangkalan Bun to the north. About one third of the area are TUMON Dayaks, mostly Christian, who were evangelized in the late 1920s and early 1930s. About 10% are Traditional Religion called Kaharingan.
Tanjung Puting the place for ecosystem conservation and habitat for endangered orangutans. Cruising Sekonyer river you will cross several types of forests, and enjoy birds singing various kinds of primates, langurs , long-tailed monkeys, red monkeys, proboscis monkeys and wild orangutans in their immediate habitat. You will get a new experience of how to sleep safely in the open above the forest in the middle of the forest, in the air fill it with mosquito nets to make you feel better by being accompanied by the music of the night forest animals
