Our 2 day trek is made for people who are curious to go further into the rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park and who would like to experience sleeping for 1 night in our camp under an impressive leaf roof of the jungle giants. In our rainforest discovering trek you will spot wild Orangutans, gibbons, up to 4 different monkey species, turtles, peacocks, lizards and a lot more incredible wildlife! Enjoy a traditional Indonesian dinner and a night full of interesting talks and playing games, while you are surrounded by the wonderful jungle sounds. Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level. Private arrival can be organised on request.. We recommend the trek with children from 5 years of age or older. If you would like to do the trek with younger children, our guide & team will support you in carrying them!. Guides required to regularly wash hands. COVID-19 vaccination required for guides. One day before the trek, your jungle guide will meet you at your guesthouse to get to know you and give you a short introduction about the tour.
The next morning you will meet your guide round about 15 minutes before you start the trek into the rainforest. If you stay at Wisma Leuser Sibayak or at a hotel nearby, the entrance to Gunung Leuser National Park is just a few minutes walk away. In case your accommodation is located outside of Bukit Lawang in the rural area, your guide will pick you up by motorbike or tuktuk, so you can start trekking in Bukit Lawang at 9 am.
Tipp: We recommend you using mosquito repellent before we start our trek into the rainforest.
