Discover the magical island wilderness of Inishbofin, an offshore island along the Wild Atlantic Way, on this self-guided day trip from Galway. Flung out into the Atlantic Ocean and shaped by the sheer force of the sea, Inishbofin (Island of the White Cow) lies seven miles off Galway’s north-west coast. The island is five by three miles long with five villages: West Quarter, Fawnmore, Middle Quarter, Cloonamore and Knock and is a remnant of life, long lost in other parts of Ireland. Explore the island and have lunch and a local beer over looking the harbour and Cromwells medieval castle.
