See spouting geysers, experience the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall, and follow in the footsteps of Vikings in Thingvellir National Park as you walk between the American and European continents. Finish up your 10-hour guided tour by stepping aboard a super truck and heading off into the glacier-covered central highlands to ride a snowmobile across one of the biggest glaciers in the world.
First, enjoy the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site listing and the location of the world's oldest existing parliament. The boundaries of the American and Eurasian tectonic plates run through the area, pulling the ground apart at a rate of 2 centimetres a year.
Next visit the iconic Geysir Hot Springs where the world-famous geyser Strokkur erupts every few minutes to the delight of onlookers. Thereafter, we'll stop at the majestic Gullfoss Waterfall. Here the Hvita glacial river cascades down 32 metres on two levels into a deep canyon, creating a breath-taking spectacle. Our fourth and final stop is Langjokull Glacier, Iceland's second-largest ice cap.
We will bring you to the foot of the glacier where the snowmobile base-camp is located. From there we head off on an unforgettable snowmobile tour across the ice cap, surrounded by amazing panoramic views. Reykjavik Sightseeing boasts a new bus fleet equipped with modern comforts such as a USB charger and WiFi connected computer tablets in each seat that include a GPS Sensitive In-Bus audio guide, available in ten languages. If any further questions arise, the on-board host will gladly assist you.
