The magnificent Hnausapollur Crater Lake is a geological wonder that your tour guide will explain. Characterized as multicoloured Rhyolite mountains, the Landmannalaugar area is known for dramatic lighting and an array of colours including yellow, pink, fluorescent green, purple, brown, black, and white. Explore this beautiful and fascinating region by hiking along with your guide who will provide you with interesting facts.
The tiresome hike surely deserves a relaxed and soothing bath. What more is exciting than a bath in a natural geothermal spring. After the bath, we return to Reykjavik but before finishing this tour we visit Mt Hekla, known for the frequent volcano eruptions. Since the time of settlement, Mt. Hekla has erupted numerous times, blanketing Iceland with thick layers of ash and pumice and was widely believed to be the gate to hell. In the past few decades, Hekla has erupted roughly every ten years. After a long and eventful day, we return to the hotel for a well deserved rest.
