One of the most historic religious sites of the Lombardy region, its foundations date back to the 7th Century. Still a working monastery today, you've free time to soak up the serenity the Cistercian monks enjoy here and explore on your own.We'll then head to Valtellina cellar. Nestled in an alpine pass along the border with Switzerland, they've been making wine for over 2,000 years, and are said to be the birthplace of bresaola – a delicious air-dried beef. Where better to wind-down the tour with a wine tasting session and some locally produced snacks.
