What To Expect

From the Public Garden, a green space in the heart of the city which houses the busts of the great personalities of the Trieste culture and which saw the protagonist Zeno Cosini of "La Conscienza di Zeno" cross its paths. We will continue to the Grand Canal, where the emporium Trieste was born and where we will meet another protagonist of the city's literary history, James Joyce. A few steps away is the Serbian Orthodox church of San Spiridione, where we will find the symbol of literary Trieste par excellence: the antiquarian bookshop Umberto Saba, the great poet who captured the soul of the city and its people in its verses. Stop at the Greek Orthodox church frequented by Joyce. We will cross Piazza della Borsa and Piazza Unità d'Italia, a synthesis of the character of the city. We will continue along the streets of Cittavecchia until we meet the statue of Italo Svevo. What better way to say goodbye if not on the Audace pier, the non-place of Trieste, where sea and land merge.
