Discover Classe

Discover with us the hamlet of Classe, an ancient Roman port city, later a military outpost of the fleet of Constantinople on the Mediterranean, now home to the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo and the brand new Classis Museum. The guided tour will first take you to discover this very space, set up in the halls of the former Ravenna sugar factory, which is characterized as an archaeological museum through which you can discover the development of the city over the centuries. A museum capable of allowing important insights into the society and life of the time. The tour will then continue with a visit to the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare in Classe, a famous example of early Christian mosaic art, where the saint's remains initially found rest.
