Entrance ticket to the Palazzo Davanzati Museum in Florence

Visit the Museum of Palazzo Davanzati, also known as the Museum of the Ancient Florentine House, which opened as a State Museum in 1956. This 14th-century palace was originally the prestigious residence of the Davizzi family, merchants and bankers, with its imposing façade overlooking the square of the same name—an area once characterised by ancient tower-houses. The palace takes its current name from the Davanzati family, who purchased the building in 1578 and enhanced its façade with their large family coat of arms. The museum houses diverse collections including sculptures, paintings, period furniture, ceramics, lace and embroidery, and household utensils. Each floor follows the same layout: the Madornale Hall spanning the length of the façade, followed by the living room, bedroom and studiolo. These rooms feature decorated wooden ceilings and tapestries depicting garden scenes alongside the important figurative cycle of the Castellana of Vergy.
