Discover the Civic Museum, one of the major museums in Siena housed inside the majestic Palazzo Pubblico, the town hall located in the famous Piazza del Campo. An experienced guide will tell you about the collection of frescoes by some of the most important 14th-century artists, such as Simone Martini, Duccio di Buoninsegna and Ambrogio Lorenzetti.The exhibition includes works of art from the 14th to the 19th century displayed in 10 rooms, which give visitors a complete overview of the evolution of Sienese art. See La Maestà by Simone Martini, a masterpiece of European Gothic art, and the cycle of frescoes The Allegory and the Effects of the Good and Bad Government by Ambrogio Lorenzetti, one of the first examples of civil art. The tour ends inside the museum in order to give you more time to explore the palace.
