Let us be your guide for this very special papal audience with Pope Francis. This tour takes out the stress of planning a visit to Vatican City. Your professional guide will share stories about the unique history of the Vatican. They'll also ensure that you see the Pope and make the most of your morning attending the audience. Every week thousands of people visit the Vatican to hear the Pope speak during Wednesday's General Audience. If the weather is nice, the audience takes place in the spectacular St Peter's Square. If it's raining or cold, the meeting happens in the Paul VI Hall inside the Vatican. This modern auditorium was designed by the Italian architect Pier Luigi Nervi in 1971.
After checking in and meeting your guide, you will walk to the Vatican via the quaint alleys and corners of the Borgo. The cobblestone streets of Rome's "14th neighbourhood" next to St. Peter's Square are laden with history and have been home to Popes and famous artists. You'll then find yourself in St. Peter's Square and take in its majesty and atmosphere.
Although the tickets are free, bookings are required weeks in advance, and the process can be difficult. This is where we're ready to help out. We'll hand you the pre-booked tickets and your guide will get you there in time to find a good place to see the Pope. You may even hold his hand as he walks among the audience and heads toward his seat on the stage. At this unique event, the Pope gives the main address in Italian followed by a summary or greeting in at least eight languages.
Book with us early to make sure you don't miss out. And we won't leave you alone. After the audience, your tour guide will meet you via Della Conciliazione, close to St Peter's Square. You can relax with a complimentary bottle of water while your guide provides suggestions about the best places to eat in Rome.
Meeting point: Bar Caffetteria L’Ottagono in Piazza del Risorgimento (350m from Metro A Line, Ottaviano stop) 15 minutes before the start of your tour (please look for our staff wearing pink uniforms or vests with our "I Love Rome" logo).
