The tour will start by beating the crowds at the Colosseum and diving right into its bloody history. As you wander the first and second tiers, your expert guide will help separate fact from fiction that is often fed to tourists. Then, you’ll head to the Roman Forum to learn about the commercial and political heart of the empire. Along the way, you’ll pass the titanic arch of Constantine, the final resting place of Julius Caesar, and the Temple of the Vestal Virgins. Finally, you’ll ascend the Palatine Hill and learn about the legend of Romulus and Remus, the mythological twin founders of Rome who were raised by a she-wolf. Explore ancient palaces and learn how the word 'palace' actually originated right here, in the home of Caesar’s heir - the first emperor of Ancient Rome, Emperor Augustus. As you hear tales of the characters that played such a crucial role in shaping history, you’ll come to understand the importance of this once-great empire like never before. Important info
- Please note that all customers must show up at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before starting time chosen as no refunds or re-bookings can be allowed for latecomers or no-shows.
- The full names of all participants must be provided at the time of booking and must match the names on the ID/Passport. Name changes are not permitted.
- A government-issued ID/passport is required for every participant. Failure to bring an ID can result in the security staff refusing your entrance to the monument.
- This tour is not suitable for guests with mobility impairments, or for wheelchairs or strollers
- At the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill only small backpacks and regular-size handbags are allowed inside. Guests with larger bags will not be allowed to enter (there are no storage facilities) and all guests must now pass through a security check before entering the Colosseum
- At the Colosseum Although your tickets are pre-booked with skip-the-line access, there could still be delays when entering if a capacity of 3,000 people has already been reached
- The Colosseum is subject to occasional closures. If time permits, the local operator will reach out to you prior to your tour. For last-minute closures, modifications may be communicated at the tour start time
- Please note that the Arena floor tickets are not included
- All customers should be able to walk at a moderate pace without difficulty
- Please note that all guests should present a photo ID to enter (including children)
- Skip-the-line tickets for the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill are included

Meeting Point
Meet your guide at the entrance of Colle Oppio Park on the corner of Via di Terme di Tito and Via Nicola Salvi. The entrance to the park is opposite The Oppio Caffe. If arriving by metro, please note that there are two entrances/exits for the metro and the Park where we meet is located on the street above the metro station. You will need to take the stairs up from inside the metro station to reach the street above. Exiting the metro on the upper street level, turn to face the Colosseum and then walk to your left 150 meters and you will find the Oppio Caffe on the corner and the entrance to the Colle Oppio Park just opposite. The coordinator will be waiting there.
