This church is carved into the rock and is built according to the typical local building tradition. Part of it is made in the rock bank and the other part is made of masonry bearing local calcarenite; • Casa Cava: an underground environment used as a tuff quarry. Today is an auditorium and Congress Centre; • Museum of Madonna della Bruna: it is based in the Sasso Barisano and proposes a multimedia path made of images, sounds and suggestions to live one of the most important religious events of Matera “la Madonna Della Bruna”; • Museum “Racconti in Pietra”: a true journey through time, where you can discover the oldest phases of the city.
