Oudong, located in Kampong Speu Province, is a small town 40km northwest of Phnom Penh. It is called Oudong Meanchey. It served as the capital of Cambodia under several sovereigns between 1618 and 1866. It is now a place of pilgrimage for Cambodian’s and has many local visitors during religion celebrations.
You must have a suitable level of fitness to undertake this tour as you are required to climb to the summit of a hill to visit the newest addition to Phnom Oudong, which is a modern temple home to a Buddha relic, previously housed in Phnom Penh.The attraction here is not just the stupa but also the breathtaking view over the surrounds.
