Located in the heart of lake Prespa, only a few kilometers from the Greek and Albanian border, you can find the fascinating island Golem Grad. Mostly, this island is referred to as the snake - or pelican island. It is home to several ancient ruins and churches and different communities of animals. Back in the days, this picturesque place was used by ancient kings as their summer residence, nowadays, this abandoned place is open for tourists.After being picked-up from your accommodation, you'll be brought towards the lake of Prespa by two types of transports, busses and off-road vehicles. There you'll take a boat trip to the island of ‘Golem Grad’. Due to ongoing excavations, you’ll encounter dozens of unearthed ruins while walking around. For example, several Roman buildings, churches, monasteries and the first residence of Tsar Samuil. After exploring this natural beauty, the boat will bring you back to the shore and after a short transfer on the shore there is a beautiful restaurant stationed, where the lunch will be served. At the end of this tour, you’ll be brought back to your accommodation with amazing memories.
