Very close to Tequisquiapan, in the community of La Trinidad and in the midst of a beautiful landscape of the hill, is located the “El Redentor” opals mine, in whose bowels it treasures wonderful multi-colored semi-precious stones called opals, which miners day by day they search for and extract from among large rocks, to later shape, polish and turn them into beautiful handmade jewelry.
The road to the mine is winding and you get on 4x4 vehicles, you can collect your own stones and hit them to find the precious opal in them, the great rule is the opal you find.
Do not forget to bring comfortable clothes and shoes, a cap or hat and a camera.
Not wheelchair accessible. Near public transportation. Not recommended for travelers with back problems. Not recommended for pregnant travelers. Most travelers can participate.
