Continue your adventure diving through the incredible Yalku Lagoon, famous for its great variety of tropical fish.
Millions of years ago, much of the Yucatan Peninsula was covered by seawater. As the levels of the oceans decreased in the Ice Age, the water receded until the peninsula we know today is discovered. This great movement of water produced massive erosion and the creation of numerous systems of caves and sinks connected to the sea.
If you know where to look, today you can find bodies of seawater hidden inside the land of the Yucatan Peninsula on the outskirts of Cancun, these are the famous cenotes.
