The guide will pick you up at your hotel in Swakopmund , to start a tour of the Mondesa district. During this visit, you will discover the daily life of the inhabitants and the influence of apartheid in this area of the city.
Mondesa was the exiled neighborhood where blacks were sidelined during apartheid , while whites and rich were concentrated in the city center. Although the system of racial segregation was abolished in 1991, it is still possible today to observe the traces of this dark part of history.
You will stroll through the streets of Mondesa, discovering its culture. You will see the kindness of the people, who will not hesitate to welcome you and invite you to taste one of their craft beers or some of their typical dishes , such as mopane worms (grilled caterpillars). During the visit, you can enjoy other traditional dishes, so that your cultural immersion is complete.
