What To Expect

Leave the bustle of the city behind on a 3.5 to 4-hour parks & countryside bike tour from Amsterdam. Take a leisurely ride through the Vondelpark along the banks of the Amstel River, explore the Dutch polders and Amsterdamse woods while you hear about local history and rural Dutch traditions, and admire the scenery of the city’s green spaces.

Half of the tour is spent riding along the Amstel River beyond the edge of town and through the polder landscape with its rectilinear ditches and dikes. We’ll show you one of the few remaining authentic windmills and we will visit a crazy and eccentric Dutch farmer at his cheese farm and clog factory.

At the farm, they will demonstrate the traditional art of making wooden shoes and the famous Gouda cheese. Afterwards, you’ll be able to have a look around in their gift shop and taste some free samples of authentic Dutch cheese. We will bike back to the city alongside the Amstel River and go under the Rijksmuseum before the end of the tour.

Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level. Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. Distance approximately 21 km (12.5 miles). A reasonable level of fitness, health and biking skill is necessary. Our guides are in charge to decide if your skills are good enough (safety first).. This tour operates with English language only. Lunch is not included. Feel free to pack a lunch and bring something to snack along the route or out at the cheese farm because while the farmer has cheese to eat the wooden shoes are not fun to nibble on unless you are a chipmunk.. Minimum age is 12 years!. for E-bikes the minimum height is 150 cm or 5'. Be 15 mins before the start of the tour at the meeting point!. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers.
