What To Expect

Wondering Reindeer is Sami reindeer experience company ho is offering guests authentic Sami adventures.
We offer guests a small group tour (16pers) around Kvaløya island with majestic mountains and arctic fjords. During the trip around the island, guests will join Sami reindeer herder and his reindeers which are living in wildness close to Sommarøy, guests will enjoy reindeer herder calls for his reindeers who are living in free natural habitat.
When the herd is gathered, there will be an opportunity to feed the animals by hand. Guests will also be gathering in traditional Sami lavvo (Sami tent) around open bonfire to enjoy Joik (traditional Sami songs) and learn more about Sami traditions.

During the roundtrip we will visit Sommarøy Arctic Hotel for lunch/meal made of local ingredients. Sommrøy is a fantastic place and a group of islands in the open sea 1,5 hours driving from Tromsø. Guests will have time to explore Sommrøy by walking around before we leave the fishing community.

If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. Dinner - Choose one dish each from the restaurant menu. If restaurant serves large lunch buffet, that will be served instead of food from menu. There are options like vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free.. Coffee and/or Tea - There will be lunch/dinner and plenty of coffee, tea, warm chocolate and biscuits/snacks.
