A tour that "cruise" the city of Dunedin and Larnach Castle. Sit back and relax as we introduce you to Dunedin and its iconic buildings and landmarks on this cosy, small to medium size groups.
Pick up is from Port Chalmers and en-route to Dunedin City we'll see The world's steepest street, Baldwin Street, our covered Sports Stadium and the University campus. After stretching our legs at Baldwin Street we make our way towards the city centre to learn more about the city's history and view some of Dunedin's iconic landmarks including the Railway Station, Law Court House, First Church of Otago and other historic buildings near the Octagon.
We next drive along the picturesque Otago Peninsula en-route to Larnach Castle where guests will have up to 90 mins exploring the castle at their own pace, maybe grab a cup of tea from the castle cafe.
After Larnach Castle we may have some time to see more of the city centre before making our way back to Port Chalmers.
Most travelers can participate. Not wheelchair accessible. Please wear closed-toed footwear and comfortable clothing Dunedin is often windy and sometimes a wet city.. Medium level of fitness required, 20-30 minute walk included. At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 16 travelers. Traveler pickup is offered
We will pick up and drop off at Port Chalmers. This is Dunedin's main Cruise Ship terminal and where cruise ship passengers disembark and board. Port staff will direct passengers to the terminal building and once inside, please look for the Tour Operator signs near the back of the building.
Our tour start time is normally 9am. Cruise Ship arrival and departure times can change and affect tour timings. In most cases, we will adjust the times to fit around your ships arrival and subsequent passengers disembarking. Where we cannot delay the tour start, we will attempt to advise the customers via the contact details entered in the booking.
