What To Expect
This Late Tour is a great option for those who were not able to book our earlier Blue Penguins Pukekura Experience Tour (Guided Evening Penguin Viewing Tour - That earlier tour coincides with the birds returning at dusk from the sea and sees more birds than numbers seen on our Late Tour). The downside of our earlier tour is there can be a wait on our platform, waiting for the birds to come ashore from the sea.
For our Blue Penguins Pukekura - Late Tour, it is already very dark (we have lights to see the birds and to guide our visitors' safety to our viewing platform) and as the penguins will have already arrived earlier, on our Late Tour we often see penguins within minutes of entering our reserve.
This Late Tour is great for viewing penguins close to our viewing platform, however, we see fewer birds than on our earlier "Guided Evening Penguin Viewing Tour" and generally don't see them come out of the sea.
We offer viator refunds of 70% if we see less than 5 penguins !

Important info
Not wheelchair accessible. Most travelers can participate. This tour is not suitable for children under 8 years of age. If you have any child younger than 8 please do not book this tour option. Because of the tour timing, this tour is not suitable for children under 8 years, please do not book this option if you have any child younger than 8.. Tour involves a 100m walk along a boardwalk that has over 30 inbuilt steps along it.. This tour option is for those with their own transport to get to our location. If you do not have a car, then book our earlier Otago Peninsula In-Depth tour as transport is provided on that tour.. This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund. This tour/activity will have a maximum of 40 travelers. Confirmation will be received at time of booking
