Kapiti foodie delights private tour with lunch

After picking you up from Wellington, head north on State Highway 1 passing through the northern suburbs of greater Wellington until reaching the first lookout point at Pukerua Bay overlooking the Kapiti Coast. You then head up Paekakariki Hill for an even more majestic view over the Kapiti Coast, Kapiti Island, the top of the South Island, and on a clear day, you may see Mt Taranaki/Egmont and Mt Ruapehu.The first foodie delight of the day is a visit to a local Coffee Roastery where you will learn the coffee process from bean to cup. You will then visit the only winery in the region, Ohau Wines, for wine tastings at the cellar doors and gain an understanding of what it takes to make great local wine. After our wine tasting, you will visit a local Olive grove for tastings of their Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Upon completion of our Olive Oil tastings, you will visit the famous Ruth Pretty Kitchen Shop for coffee and cake. ‘Dessert’ is taken at the Kapiti Chocolate Factory followed by Limoncello, Gin, and Vodka tastings at Koakoa. Last but not least you will visit one of Kapiti's great Craft Breweries for tastings of fine Kapiti Coast Craft Beer.Don’t worry if you decide to have asleep in the car on the way home. Your Guide won’t be offended! It’s a sign you have enjoyed the great tastes of the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua. Arrive back at your drop-off location in Wellington around 4:30 pm.
