Jasna Góra is one of the most important places of worship of the Virgin Mary and has been the most important pilgrimage centre in Poland for hundreds of years. The miraculous image of the Black Madonna from Jasna Góra is especially worshipped by the faithful of the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Catholic Church. The visit to the old Pauline Monastery is a unique opportunity to learn about the everyday lives of monks, to see the beauty of medieval monastery buildings and fortification walls, and admire the baroque basilica.
Not wheelchair accessible. Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements. Near public transportation. Infants must sit on laps. Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
