Our journey in the Boco Valley begins at Azenha Ti Luísa. This ancient watermill will be the epicenter of our adventure.
From Azenha Ti Luísa, we will explore the Levadas Trail, a picturesque path that follows the water channels of the Boco's Watermills through forests and farmlands. The gentle sound of flowing water and the birdsong will accompany us as we walk.
After exploring the levadas, we'll return to Azenha Ti Luísa. We'll be welcomed by the miller, who will reveal the secrets of how this century-old watermill works. Learn how water, skilfully channelled through the levadas, is transformed into energy to grind grains and produce the flour that is the basis of our food.
And to round off the day, we'll enjoy a picnic in the charming garden of Azenha Ti Luísa.
In the shade the trees, we'll share a delicious meal that includes the tasty Bairrada suckling pig.
